Circa 1938-1950: Vintage Harlequin pottery 22 ounce milk pitcher or jug in the original mauve glaze. This example is in exellent condition with no apparent use or damage. An early piece, introduced in the late 30s, the 22 ounce pitcher we guess would have been used for milk at the table. An exciting piece in the harlequin line with it's classic and angular art-deco handle and middle band of concentric rings. As always, unmarked with three stilt marks from the kiln on the bottom and the classic three bands of rings. Mauve was disconued when the 50s colors entered the scene, so we appreciate finding an early piece of Harlequin in the original blue for the line, which collectors have come to know as Mauve.
