Vintage Fiesta 12" Large Footed
Comports for Sale | Circa 1936-1946

Included in the original release of the Fiesta pottery line, the 12" Comport shows the early ambition of Homer Laughlin's now infamous solid color dinnereware line from the 30s. To manufacture such a large bowl and then adorn it with a hand tooled foot and mass produce it in the late 30s was truely commendable. The 12" comport transcends regular table ware and elevates the table. Produced for only ten years, the footed salad bowl is a delight to find. Available in only the original six glazes, variety will be found in the foot. Two varities are known, one has a more flared out foot, somewhat thinner, usually accompanied by an inkstamp and a second variety where the foot is thicker and doesnot flare out and is usually found unmarked.
