Circa 1936 -1946: The vintage Fiesta
ice lip pitcher was part of the original line and was produced until the end of WWII. It is found only in the first, original, six colors and is a delight to find at all and especially in such excellent condition as this example in vintage cobalt. A piece that really delights in person, holding over 60 ounces and measuring over 9" from tip of spout to back of handle. This is an example of another piece of holloware that was slip cast and the mold marks smoothed by hand, but also the handle had to be applied by hand and separately cast. The simple bulbous form harkens to the design of the mustard and marmalades, lending a consistency to the entire fiestaware line. Never meant to have a lid, the vintage fiestaware ice lip pitcher is a delight for the collector. This example is fantastic.
