Happy Heidi Vintage Fiesta

Vintage Harlequin Basketweave Ashtray in Original Yellow Glaze | Circa 1939-1959

Circa 1939-1959: Although most of the dinnerware found in the Harlequin line have bands of rings like the fiestaware, the intricate criss cross patterns found on both the nut dish and the basketweave ashtray stands out as highly decorative and unique elements not found on any other pieces in the solid color dinnerware lines. It is well documented that the pattern was copied after the Japanese Marutomo ware with the only real difference being the removal of some hand painted floral motifs over the glaze. This example in the 1940s and 1950s Yellow colored glaze (same Yellow color as is found in the vintage fiestaware line) is in excellent condition and shows no sign of use or damage. Measures 4 1/2" wide by 1" high.
